Filmmaker Nancy Meyers is one of my favorite interior designers. No, really. Sure, she spins a great story, but the jaw-dropping interiors are reason enough to collect her films. Favorites include “The Parent Trap” (London Townhouse and Napa Estate), “Something’s Got To Give” (Hampton’s Beach House, OMG), “Father of the Bride” (Colonial Perfection), and “The Holiday”(Cotswolds Cottage and LA Modern Home).
Meyers’ most recent release is a sweet story about an internet entrepreneur played by Anne Hathaway whose Brooklyn Brownstone is an urban dreamscape. Here’s just a peek. I love the vintage-meets-modern feel of this space with graphic art and neutral tones playing against the classic backdrop of a city home. The product capsule below is my attempt to recreate this space with a rich, velvet sofa (I prefer deep blue to the bright chartreuse in the photo) and a collection of art, books, and accessories to create a collected look. What are your favorite movie homes?
