This Connecticut home by interior designer, Kristin McCory, is a gorgeous example of tasteful and luxurious interior design. The house is filled with natural light creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor is chic and contemporary, with clean lines, muted tones, and a few pops of bold color.
In the living room comfortable sofas and deep chairs in a neutral shade are accented with colorful throw pillows in shades of blue and green. The sleek coffee table is beautifully layered with accessories and books to inspire evenings spent by the fire. Shades of blue and green continue into the adjacent dining room with rustic rattan chairs and plenty of blue and white accessories for a casual, coastal feel.
The bedrooms feature simple yet elegant bedding in shades of gray and white with custom monogrammed shams. The best seat in the house, a deep cozy window seat is upholstered in green and flanked by cheerful window treatments in a classic green and yellow floral pattern. The homeowner’s collection of cabbage leaf porcelain and lightship baskets receive a place of honor on the grasscloth-backed bookcases.
The bathroom takes a whimsical turn with lavender and teal wallpaper, a lavender Chippendale-style mirror, and a custom vanity providing a vintage, collected feel to the space. In fact, this shade of lavender pops up throughout the home in bouquets of hydrangeas, garden stools used as side tables and collected artwork.
